Glenda Ball PCC, CPHR, SPHRi

lead up. was started by Glenda Ball in 2011 after an exciting and rewarding career in Human Resources and Client Service Management. Throughout her corporate career, her favorite thing to do was devote time and energy to supporting leadership and management teams as they worked to develop effective styles for the teams they led. She learned early on that great leadership is not a one-person show. Alongside every great leader is an even more amazing team, and so her interest and investment expanded to team development.

lead up. approaches leadership development with a bottom-up strategy. Instead of a hierarchical structure leading from the top down, you build your team's leadership strength, along with your own. You lead up, not down.

 

lead up. empowers leaders to learn about themselves and others, set goals and expectations for themselves and with others, lead by example and equips them to mentor their teams effectively to sustain the learning.

 

The term 'lead up' is defined as something that prepares the way for something else. With this in mind, lead up. partners with leaders and their teams to create focused solutions that support their vision of the future. They are supported as they develop valuable skills, perspectives and practices to prepare for the future they envision.

ABOUT GLENDA BALL, FOUNDER AND CEO
I am passionate about coaching and facilitation, as well as personal accountability and continuous learning. I have a proven ability to collaborate with leaders and their teams as they work to communicate effectively, become more cohesive as a team, and develop valuable leadership skills. Through my experience and studies, I have learned to co-create solutions with my clients and help them apply proven and practical solutions with an objective and focused approach. By combining a strategic mix of leadership learning and one-to-one or group coaching, I guide my clients through the necessary steps required to reach their short and long term goals.

 

I am a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) specializing in the areas of Leadership, Management and Career Development. I also facilitate Everything DiSC, The Five Behaviours of a Cohesive Team, Leading with Emotional Intelligence, COR.E Leadership Dynamics, and Myers Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) sessions. 

 

I believe that leadership is not specific to a role - that every person should take on the role of self-leadership. It is through self-leadership that we show up at our best and are able to impact the teams and organizations we work with. I am able to support the development of leadership cultures through coaching, team development and human resource strategy.

​My professional experience spans just over twenty years, including ten years in mid and senior human resource management roles. I have held diverse and progressive positions based in Canada and the US and have extensive experience in employee relations, corporate communications, training and development, change management, organizational development, client management, corporate administration, and strategic and business planning. I continue to learn through every client commitment as well as through my continuing professional development. I recently completed the Master of Arts (MA) in Leadership program through Royal Roads University, the Workplace Mental Health Leadership Certificate program through Queen's University, Patrick Lencioni's Working Genius Certification program, and the PROSCI Change Practitioner Certification program.  Yes, forever a learner!
